Comparing the Editions
All of the FileUp editions begin with parallel functionality,
but if you look closer, you will find three very distinct feature
sets addressing different needs.
Which one is right for you?
Details About Each Feature
Secure 3-stage transfers:
Enterprise Edition: Exclusive client-to-server-to-server
HTTP transfers means sensitive data can be transferred to firewall-protected
servers and kept off vulnerable public Web servers.
Client-side resumability:
Enterprise Edition: With Xfile, client-to-web server
resumability is supported. Resumability is more flexible allowing
pre-caching for guaranteed availability or no pre-caching for
higher performance.
Streaming upload:
Enterprise Edition: Increase security and performance
by passing files through a Web server directly to a file server.
An uploaded file is never stored on the Web server, neither
on disk nor in memory.
Web farm support:
Enterprise Edition: By accessing a common secure file
store, all of your designated Web users can share and retrieve
the most recent document regardless of which Web server they
access.
Audit transfers easily
Enterprise Edition: Create an audit database that details
information about the upload/download. Track when files are
sent, time of completion, size of files, etc.
File size maximum
Professional and Standard Editions: Transmit files
up to 4 gigabytes. Enterprise Edition: There are no
limitations on the number or size of files you can upload.
Back up entire hard drives in a single step.
Preset file(s) to/from client
Enterprise and Professional Editions: Preset the client
file path for a download or the file to upload from a user's
hard disk.
Rich client-side ActiveX control
Enterprise and Professional Editions: Access system
transfer methods (WinInet, Sockets, URLConnect), support SSL,
proxies, and multiple authentication mechanisms, make multiple
HTTP Gets or Posts in a single operation, generates events
for capture by Internet Explorer or Visual Basic.
Multi-file progress indicator
Enterprise and Professional Editions: Display an accurate
progress indicator for both an individual file and the total
transfer while uploading and downloading.
Upload entire directories
Enterprise and Professional Editions: Allow users to
upload whole directories - with or without sub-directories
- in a single step.
Bypass ASP.NET, IIS limits
All Editions: Solve potentially server-crippling upload
limitations in ASP.NET and IIS. By intercepting transfer requests
with an HTTP Module, FileUp caches the upload to disk before
passing it to ASP.NET.
Process all file types
All Editions: There are no file type limitations in
any of the editions. Transfer .doc, .pdf, .psd and .mpeg files
just to name a few.
Data Integrity
All Editions: With a client side control such as FileManager/Xfile,
verify the integrity of uploaded data when transferring files
from a browser to a Web server. Enterprise Edition:
Verify data integrity when uploading from browser to Web server
or from Web server to file server.
Secure client-to-Web server transfers
All Editions: Uploads from the client to the Web server
can be SSL encoded so that the information is encrypted during
transmission. In contrast, there is no means for doing that
using standard FTP.
