DevPartner Studio Server
Collecting data from remote systems
You can use DevPartner to enable automatic memory, performance, coverage or distributed application analysis for any of your application components running on a remote system. For example, you can enable DevPartner to monitor the portion of your application running on a server system. To collect data simultaneously from a client computer and a remote computer, install DevPartner Studio on the client and DevPartner Studio and the optional DevPartner Studio Server license on the remote machine.
What is the DevPartner Studio Server license?
DevPartner Studio provides the ability to gather and analyze data from the distributed application components running on your single machine. If you move any of your application components to remote machines, and you would like to gather and analyze data from these remote components, you will need to install your DevPartner Studio software and the optional DevPartner Studio Server license on each remote machine.
Installing the optional DevPartner Studio Server license on a machine with DevPartner Studio installed allows that machine to be used as a distributed application remote data server. When this is done, any number of DevPartner Studio console (user) machines can access the host (remote) data server machines with the DevPartner Studio Server license installed. Distributed application data from components running on the host machine can then be collected and viewed from the console machine. If the application is executing on multiple remote machines, be sure to install DevPartner Studio and the DevPartner Studio Server license on each remote machine.
Note: You do not need to install a DevPartner Studio Server license on the console machine in order to collect data locally.
