System Requirements
Minimum Hardware Requirements to Develop IA-32 Applications
- A system based on a 450 MHz Intel?Pentium?II processor or greater, Intel Pentium 4 recommended
- 256 MB of RAM (512 MB recommended)
- 200 MB of free hard disk space, plus an additional 300 MB during installation for download and temporary files
- 100 MB of hard disk space for the virtual memory paging file. Be sure to use at least the recommended minimum amount of virtual memory recommended for Microsoft Windows
Minimum Hardware Requirements to Develop Itanium?based Applications on an IA-32 System
- A system based on a 450 MHz Intel?Pentium?II processor or greater, Pentium 4 recommended
- 256 MB of RAM (512 recommended)
- 300 MB free hard disk space, plus an additional 300 MB during installation for download and temporary files

- Windows XP 64-bit edition, Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition.

- Notes:Adobe* Acrobat Reader* version 4.0 or later is required to view some of the reference documentation.
It is the responsibility of application developers to ensure that the machine instructions contained in the application are supported by the operating system and processor on which the application is to run. In particular, programs which use Streaming SIMD Extensions require Windows NT* 4.0 with Service Pack 6 or higher, Windows 2000, or Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, running on an Intel Pentium III processor. The Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 of the Intel Pentium 4 processor also require one of these operating systems. |
